Spot treating Sterling Silver:
For items that are heavily tarnished mix baking soda and water forming a paste. Gently apply the paste to the metal only and spot treat as needed. For tight areas use a Q-tip, or a clean cloth being careful to avoid the stones. Throughly rinse in warm water and pat dry.

Sterling Silver can tarnish as a result of exposure to air, sunlight, and contact with common household cleaners as well as lotions and perfumes. Prevention and proper care for your Sterling is the best defense in keeping your Sterling pieces looking new.
