Raw neon Apatite and Copper column earrings
These beautiful earring feature five hand selected raw neon blue Apatite chips separated by copper beads. The Copper beads and wire lend a complimentary contrast to the glassy Apatite stones. The asymmetry of each Apatite stone is taken into consideration when hand selecting and pairing each piece for a balanced and aesthetically pleasing final product.
Due to the handmade nature of each piece, items may vary slightly from those shown. The individuality of each piece is what makes each item special and unique. Apatite
Apatite is an inspirational stone helping to stimulate creativity and intellect. It induces opens and social ease Helping to draw off negativity about oneself and others. Apatite expands knowledge and truth and eases sorrow, apathy and anger. It reduces irritability and helps to overcome emotional exhaustion.
Caring for your Artisan Jewelry:
Please be mindful that wire jewelry is very delicate and should be handled with the utmost care to ensure years of wear. I advise against wearing your jewelry to bed as the delicate wire pieces may become misshapen. It is also a good idea to avoid swimming or sunbathing in your jewelry as this may speed up the natural patina process.
Clean your Sage & Stone pieces regularly with warm water, a soft bristled brush and an ammonia and phosphate free dishwashing soap. Be sure to rinse throughly and gently pat dry. Regular cleanings will help prevent items from becoming heavily tarnished. Please avoid abrasive polishes as these may scratch the metals as well as degrade soft stones. If your pieces need a deeper cleaning method please refer to specific metal spot treatments below.
Spot treating Copper:
If your copper piece requires deeper cleaning, a simple mixture of lemon juice and salt will suffice. Be extra cautious to spot treat ONLY, as the high acidity in lemon will degrade softer stones if they come in contact with the lemon mixture. I advise using a Q-tip to gently swipe the copper areas you wish to clean and quickly rinse with warm water. Gently pat dry and your copper piece will shine like it’s new.
How to keep your Copper from tarnishing:
Copper can tarnish as a result of exposure to air, sunlight, and contact with common household cleaners as well as lotions and perfumes. Prevention and proper care for your Copper is the best defense in keeping your Copper pieces looking new. When not wearing, it is recommended that you store your Copper items in an air tight plastic with an anti-tarnish strip.
Of course, part of the fun in working with metals is appreciating the natural patina that develops over time. If you prefer the look of patinated silver and copper then simply cleaning with gentle soap and warm water will allow your Sage & Stone pieces to develop their own unique personality.
